PART 2
More Interesting Facts concerning THE BOOK OF ENOCH. By Simon Brown.
-
From my research I find some more very interesting facts. Facts that I have not seen either written or mentioned any where else. It is this.
So many believers say that when we die the saved and unsaved, sleep and know nothing. They say even the prophets and the disciples are asleep and know nothing, however this is not what Enoch believed.
The book of Enoch and 5.THE GREEK TEXT OF THE
7Q ENOCH FRAGMENTS:
ANALYSIS AND TRANSLATION
Translation of Greek by Ernest Muro and Translation of Ethiopic by
R.H Charles.
This is terrifying.
16.4. And the spirits of you who have died in righteousness shall live and rejoice, And their spirits shall not perish, nor their memorial from before the face of the Great One unto all the generations of the world: wherefore no longer fear their contumely.
17.5. And you, dead sinners, when you die they will say about you: "Blessed are the sinners, they saw during their lifetime the full extent of all their days 5. Woe to you, ye sinners, when ye have died, If ye die in the wealth of your sins, And those who are like you say regarding you: "Blessed are the sinners: they have seen all their days.
18.6. and died honourably, and judgment did not happen during their lifetime." 6. And now they have died in prosperity and wealth, And have not seen tribulation or murder in their life; And they have died in honour, And judgement has not been executed on them during their life."
19.7. You yourselves know that they will drag down your souls to Hades, and they will remain there in great anguish 7. Know ye, that their souls will be made to descend into Sheol and they shall be wretched in their great tribulation.
20.8. and in darkness, ensnared and aflame; and your souls will enter the great judgment for all generations forever.
21.Woe unto you, for you are unable to rejoice. 8. And into darkness and chains and a burning flame where there is grievous judgment shall your spirits enter; And the great judgment shall be for all the generations of the world. Woe to you, for ye shall have no peace.
Enoch stated that we have a Soul that lives on.
So, in short Enoch states the righteous spirits who have died in righteousness shall live and rejoice, and their spirits shall not perish, and the lost souls of the sinners also shall live on but will descend into Sheol in darkness, ensnared and aflame until the great judgment day.
So he believed we have a soul which lives on and this soul/spirit goes to heaven or Sheol-Hades.
Now here is where it gets more interesting.
Below is a verse from 2 Peter 2 which confirms with the SAME story's told in The Book of Enoch AND JOSEPHUS and or HIPPOLYTUS OF ROME Discourse to the Greeks concerning Hades.
states clearly and the same story told by Jesus in Luke 16.19 is the same story told by Enoch in THE ENOCH FRAGMENTS. Where the SOULS OF THE UNSAVED dead awaited Judgment Day. The unrighteous are detained, kept or reserved.
I believe this is similar to what we do with criminals where they are kept in prison. Jesus told us in this verse below that the unsaved are already condemned, please don't take my word for this read what the Lord says here -
18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son John 3:18
The book of 2 Peter 2:9 states- 1 KJV and to reserve the unjust. 2 NASv and to keep the unrighteous. How can you keep or reserve something if there is no soul that lives on to reserve or keep for the day of judgment.?
Here the book of Revelation 20:4 makes it clear that believers will be beheaded and killed but their souls lived on and remained because John in the book of Revelation states he saw their souls after they were beheaded.
Revelation 20:4
Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God,
This next verse I find so very easy to understand YET SO MANY BELIEVERS DON'T AGREE. For this reason we will have a deeper look at the meaning and understanding OF THIS VERY IMPORTANT VERSE that states we have a soul that lives on after death.
Matthew 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. This is believed by some to be a "periphrasis told by Jesus of the bloody persecutors. As we know many profits and most of the disciples were persecuted just as Jesus foretold to his disciples and we also know that many Christians are being persecuted in the world today which is increasing in number. Also, as seen above in Revelation 20:4 we are entering a period where believers will be beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God,
But here is the good news for the saved Jesus made it clear that we are not to fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Matthew 10:28
Luke 12:4 states
"I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do.
These verses make it clear.
Our souls live after death in eternal happiness but if you are not saved then get saved as the unsaved will be reserved or kept for the day of judgment in a place called Hades as stated by Enoch AND JOSEPHUS and or HIPPOLYTUS OF ROME
Matthew 10:28 and Luke 12:4 make it clear to me at least. Should your body be destroyed, your soul will remain because no men are able to kill the soul which is immortal and cannot be touched by the sword or by fire and or any instruments of violence. It is immortal, it survives the body and lives in a separate state and if saved enjoying happiness and bliss whilst the body is in a state of death: sleep.
In a little time God will raise up the bodies, and reunite them to their souls.
So I beg you in Jesus name if you are not saved then click here to surrender Your heart To God http://www.realdiscoveries.org/
So many believers email me or leave a comment on my you tube video about The parable of The Rich Man and Lazarus- Luke 16-19-31 CLICK HERE TO WATCH http://www.realdiscoveries.org/modules/mytube/singlevideo.php?cid=1&lid=12 saying Luke 16-19 is just a parable.
Certain believers believe when we die, we sleep and know nothing. THAT'S NOT WHAT JESUS SAID SO LET’S HAVE A LOOK at the scriptures.
John 11:25-26 (NIV) Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
King James Bible
I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living
What do the Bible Scholars say about The Soul? Do We Sleep? Matthew 22:32
Young's Literal Translation
I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not a God of dead men, but of living.'
Clarke's Commentary on the Bible
I am the God of Abraham - Let it be observed, that Abraham was dead upwards of 300 years before these words were spoken to Moses: yet still God calls himself the God of Abraham, etc. Now Christ properly observes that God is not the God of the dead, (that word being equal, in the sense of the Sadducees, to an eternal annihilation), but of the living; it therefore follows that, if he be the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, these are not dead, but alive; alive with God, though they had ceased, for some hundreds of years, to exist among mortals. We may see, from this, that our Lord combats and confutes another opinion of the Sadducees, viz. that there is neither angel nor spirit; by showing that the soul is not only immortal, but lives with God, even while the body is detained in the dust of the earth, which body is afterwards to be raised to life, and united with its soul by the miraculous power of God, of which power they showed themselves to be ignorant when they denied the possibility of a resurrection.
Wesley's Notes
22:32 I am the God of Abraham - The argument runs thus: God is not the God of the dead, but of the living: (for that expression, Thy God, implies both benefit from God to man, and duty from man to God) but he is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: therefore, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are not dead, but living. Therefore, the soul does not die with the body. So indeed the Sadducees supposed, and it was on this ground that they denied the resurrection. Exodus 3:6.
People's New Testament
22:32 I am the God of Abraham. See Ex 3:6. God does not say, I was, but I 'am' the God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob. The present tense shows that he is still the God of the departed patriarchs, and that they are still in existence.
