Jude the half brother of Jesus, refers to something not recorded in our canon BIBLE, FACTS CONCERNING THE BOOK OF ENOCH. More Interesting Facts on what I believe proves THE BOOK OF ENOCH to be genuine By Simon Brown

  1.  Photos and article By Simon Brown updated on 1/September/2011

Please feel free to use any of the photos below.

Most believers say the book of Enoch is not a true book and that the Jude passage 1:14-15  is NOT REFERRING TO the book of Enoch. However Jude refers to something which is recorded WORD FOR WORD in the Book of Enoch 1:9. And was in wide circulation 2000 years ago, and Jude evidently considered it "canonical enough" to quote authoritatively.  Jude 1:14-15 NIV

  14 Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about them: “See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones 15 to judge everyone, and to convict all of them of all the ungodly acts they have committed in their ungodliness, and of all the defiant words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.”

Believers generally believe the Dead Sea scrolls are genuine yet the Enoch fragments, with the words of the prophet Enoch dating back to before the days of Christ were unearthed in the same place at Qumran in 1947.

  3. Is the number of SEVEN and the cave SEVEN just a coincidence?

From my research I find some very interesting facts. New facts that shed more light and evidence on the fragments of Enoch found in 7Q4,1&2 and 7Q8. These new facts I have not seen written or mentioned anywhere else. If you have read this any where else or disagree I would love to hear from you.

As you can clearly see the fragments of Enoch found in QUMRAM CAVE 7 has the number 7. Was there a deliberate reason to give Enoch's cave this biblical number 7 ?

SO WHAT! You may ask? Let me tell you. "Enoch was the Seventh from Adam" The number SEVEN is one of the most significant numbers in the Holy Bible. SEVEN is used over 700 times in the Bible. It is used 54 times in the Book of Revelation. READ MORE ABOUT 7 by going to this web site. The Sevens (7) of the Bible. Click here .

Please hold on I am not finished yet. What was the Enoch's fragments doing in these caves in the beginning? If they are not genuine as many believers say there can be only one good reason.

    The Essences And QUMRAM.
This site boasted a Jewish population as far back as 800 BC, and for 200 years it was home to a breakaway group called the Essenes. They lived and studied here and were Qumran’s true claim to fame.

  • These Jewish historical documents called the famous Dead Sea scrolls were discovered here in 11 caves in 1947 and 1956. They where believed to have been written and hidden by the Essenes in these caves. Probably the most important discovery of our time, the scrolls have had great impact on biblical scholarship.

  • Here is the interesting part. The Holy Bible we hold in our hands today is virtually identical to the famous Dead Sea scrolls believed to be written by the Essenes over 2000 years ago. Proving our Holy bible is a genuine book.

  • Interestingly, the many parts of the book of Enoch which have surfaced in many languages from different countries are also virtually identical to the famous fragments of Enoch found in 7Q4,1&2 and 7Q8. proving the book of Enoch is a genuine book. We also know the Essenes went out their way to hide and

preserve the famous Dead Sea scrolls which included the famous fragments of Enoch. WHY? Because just as Jude believed and referred to, something which is recorded WORD FOR WORD in the Book of Enoch 1:9, so did the Essenes copy from copies of the book of Enoch to preserve them for today.

I'm no scientist yet it is clear to me at least that the Essenes must also believed they were genuine and originally written by the prophet of God-Enoch.

      Chester of Reluctant Messenger" States.
There is abundant proof that Christ approved of the Book of Enoch. Over a hundred phrases in the New Testament find precedents in the Book of Enoch.       Yet most believers say they are a fake or a forgery.

Below are just some of many facts that I, Simon Brown have taken from the web sites and links below, of articles on which I believe from my research is a genuine book copied and originally written by the prophet of God-Enoch himself.

This article continues in more detail at the bottom of this page. If you would like to read more on this subject then please move on to PART 2

More Interesting Facts concerning the THE BOOK OF ENOCH. By Simon Brown.

Don't take my word for this and I know you won’t. What do these scholars say on this subject?

Here are some excerpts of articles from Daniel L. Berry.  "The Reluctant Messenger" and  Ferrell's Travel Blog

    • Enoch was a preacher of righteousness.

    • Before the Torah, and the Old Testament was the book of Enoch.
The book of Enoch is quoted in the Bible and was considered scripture in ancient civilization.
This book adds credibility to the Bible especially the book of Genesis.
The book of Enoch expands into what really happened during those days before the flood. As told in 2 Peter 2:
      4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment;
This same description is in the book of ENOCH

    • This book also explains the source of demons & fallen angels.
In addition, the book also sheds light into the so called evolution of man.
      • To read this book is to believe that there's really a God and that the bible tells us the truth about this God.
This book was not taken out of the Bible because it disagrees with the Bible but because it agrees with it, therefore powerful people in charge had suppressed it.
It is believed that the book of Enoch was preserved by Noah his great grandson during the deluge.
The Jude passage also sheds some light on the amount of knowledge the men of his day had, of future prophetic events. A reference to the Second Coming of Christ at the end of the Tribulation.

      • The only way he would have known was if God had told him. It appears he knew a lot about the coming Messiah.   Enoch is considered as Scripture in the Epistle of Barnabas (16:4) and by many of the early Church Fathers as Athenagoras, Clement of Alexandria, Irenaeus and Tertullian who wrote c. 200 that the Book of Enoch had been rejected by the Jews because it contained prophecies pertaining to Christ.

      • The book of Enoch was written in the 2nd century B.C. and was popular for about 500 years with both Jews and early Christians. It is one of 15 works of the Jewish apocrypha and the Jews rejected the book of Enoch when they made a canon of their own scriptures late in the second century A.D. During the first three hundred years of Christianity, early church leaders made reference to it. The early second century "Epistle of Barnabus" makes much use of the Book of Enoch. Second and Third Century leaders, including Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Origin and Clement of Alexandria all reference it. Tertullian (160-230 A.D.) even called the Book of Enoch "Holy Scripture". The Ethiopic Church even added the Book of Enoch to its official canon. It was widely known and read the first three centuries after Christ. This and many other books became discredited after the Council of Laodicea and being under the ban of the authorities afterwards it gradually passed out of circulation.

      • Many of the early church fathers also supported the Enochian writings. The only way HE would have known was if God had told him. It appears he knew a lot about the coming Messiah..

      • Justin Martyr ascribed all evil to demons whom he alleged to be the offspring of the angels who fell, through lust for women (from the Ibid.)--directly referencing the Enochian writings.

      • A short section of the book 1 Enoch (1En1:9) is quoted in the New Testament (Letter of Jude 1:14-15), and there apparently attributed to "Enoch the Seventh from Adam" (1En60:8). It is argued that all the writers of the New Testament were familiar with it and were influenced by it in thought and diction.

More Interesting Facts concerning THE BOOK OF ENOCH. By Simon Brown.

    1. From my research I find some more very interesting facts. Facts that I have not seen either written or mentioned any where else. It is this.

So many believers say that when we die the saved and unsaved, sleep and know nothing. They say even the prophets and the disciples are asleep and know nothing, however this is not what Enoch believed.

The book of Enoch and 5.THE GREEK TEXT OF THE

Translation of Greek by Ernest Muro and Translation of Ethiopic by
    R.H Charles.

    This is terrifying.

16.4. And the spirits of you who have died in righteousness shall live and rejoice, And their spirits shall not perish, nor their memorial from before the face of the Great One unto all the generations of the world: wherefore no longer fear their contumely.
17.5. And you, dead sinners, when you die they will say about you: "Blessed are the sinners, they saw during their lifetime the full extent of all their days 5. Woe to you, ye sinners, when ye have died, If ye die in the wealth of your sins, And those who are like you say regarding you: "Blessed are the sinners: they have seen all their days.
18.6. and died honourably, and judgment did not happen during their lifetime." 6. And now they have died in prosperity and wealth, And have not seen tribulation or murder in their life; And they have died in honour, And judgement has not been executed on them during their life."
19.7. You yourselves know that they will drag down your souls to Hades, and they will remain there in great anguish 7. Know ye, that their souls will be made to descend into Sheol and they shall be wretched in their great tribulation.
20.8. and in darkness, ensnared and aflame; and your souls will enter the great judgment for all generations forever.
21.Woe unto you, for you are unable to rejoice. 8. And into darkness and chains and a burning flame where there is grievous judgment shall your spirits enter; And the great judgment shall be for all the generations of the world. Woe to you, for ye shall have no peace.

Enoch stated that we have a Soul that lives on.

So, in short Enoch states the righteous spirits who have died in righteousness shall live and rejoice, and their spirits shall not perish, and the lost souls of the sinners also shall live on but will descend into Sheol in darkness, ensnared and aflame until the great judgment day.

So he believed we have a soul which lives on and this soul/spirit goes to heaven or Sheol-Hades.

Now here is where it gets more interesting.

Below is a verse from 2 Peter 2 which confirms with the SAME story's told in The Book of Enoch  AND JOSEPHUS and or HIPPOLYTUS OF ROME  Discourse to the Greeks concerning Hades.
states clearly and the same story told by Jesus in Luke 16.19 is the same story told by Enoch in THE ENOCH FRAGMENTS. Where the SOULS OF THE UNSAVED dead awaited Judgment Day. The unrighteous are detained, kept or reserved.

I believe this is similar to what we do with criminals where they are kept in prison.  Jesus told us in this verse below that the unsaved are already condemned, please don't take my word for this read what the Lord says here -

18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son John 3:18

The book of 2 Peter 2:9 states- 1 KJV and to reserve the unjust. 2 NASv  and to keep the unrighteous. How can you keep or reserve something if there is no soul that lives on to reserve or keep for the day of judgment.?

Here the book of Revelation 20:4 makes it clear that believers will be beheaded and killed but their souls lived on and remained because John in the book of Revelation states he saw their souls after they were beheaded.

    Revelation 20:4

Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God,

This next verse I find so very easy to understand YET SO MANY BELIEVERS DON'T AGREE. For this reason we will have a deeper look at the meaning and understanding OF THIS VERY IMPORTANT VERSE that states we have a soul that lives on after death.

Matthew 10:28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. This is believed by some to be a "periphrasis told by Jesus of the bloody persecutors. As we know many profits and most of the disciples were persecuted just as Jesus foretold to his disciples and we also know that many Christians are being persecuted in the world today which is increasing in number. Also, as seen above in Revelation 20:4 we are entering a period where believers will be beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God,

But here is the good news for the saved Jesus made it clear that we are not to  fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Matthew 10:28

      Luke 12:4 states

"I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do.

    These verses make it clear.

Our souls live after death in eternal happiness but if you are not saved then get saved as the unsaved will be reserved or kept for the day of judgment in a place called Hades as stated by Enoch AND JOSEPHUS and or HIPPOLYTUS OF ROME

Matthew 10:28 and Luke 12:4 make it clear to me at least. Should your body be destroyed, your soul will remain because no men are able to kill the soul which is immortal and cannot be touched by the sword or by fire and or any instruments of violence. It is immortal, it survives the body and lives in a separate state and if saved enjoying happiness and bliss whilst the body is in a state of death: sleep.

In a little time God will raise up the bodies, and reunite them to their souls.

So many believers email me or leave a comment on my you tube video about The parable of The Rich Man and Lazarus- Luke 16-19-31  CLICK HERE TO WATCH  saying Luke 16-19 is just a parable.

Certain believers believe when we die, we sleep and know nothing. THAT'S NOT WHAT JESUS SAID SO LET’S HAVE A LOOK at the scriptures.

John 11:25-26 (NIV)  Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

    King James Bible
I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living

What do the Bible Scholars say about The Soul? Do We Sleep?                 Matthew 22:32

    Young's Literal Translation
I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not a God of dead men, but of living.'

     Clarke's Commentary on the Bible

I am the God of Abraham - Let it be observed, that Abraham was dead upwards of 300 years before these words were spoken to Moses: yet still God calls himself the God of Abraham, etc. Now Christ properly observes that God is not the God of the dead, (that word being equal, in the sense of the Sadducees, to an eternal annihilation), but of the living; it therefore follows that, if he be the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, these are not dead, but alive; alive with God, though they had ceased, for some hundreds of years, to exist among mortals. We may see, from this, that our Lord combats and confutes another opinion of the Sadducees, viz. that there is neither angel nor spirit; by showing that the soul is not only immortal, but lives with God, even while the body is detained in the dust of the earth, which body is afterwards to be raised to life, and united with its soul by the miraculous power of God, of which power they showed themselves to be ignorant when they denied the possibility of a resurrection.

     Wesley's Notes

22:32 I am the God of Abraham - The argument runs thus: God is not the God of the dead, but of the living: (for that expression, Thy God, implies both benefit from God to man, and duty from man to God) but he is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob: therefore, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are not dead, but living. Therefore, the soul does not die with the body. So indeed the Sadducees supposed, and it was on this ground that they denied the resurrection. Exodus 3:6.

     People's New Testament

22:32 I am the God of Abraham. See Ex 3:6. God does not say, I was, but I 'am' the God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob. The present tense shows that he is still the God of the departed patriarchs, and that they are still in existence.

    5:21 Greek bible

Here is the Greek text below

2 Peter 2:9 -Greek Interlinear Bible KJV
9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to
reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished :

2 Peter 2:9 -Greek Interlinear Bible NTV
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to
reserve the unjust unto the day of judgement to be punished:

People telling the same story as Jesus.

  • THE ENOCH FRAGMENTS said: ensnared and aflame;JOSEPHUS and or HIPPOLYTUS OF ROME said: and do not stand clear of the hot vapour itself;

JESUS SAID IN Luke 16:24. The rich man said I am tormented in this flame.

JESUS ALSO SAID IN Codex Sinaiticus Luke 10:15 And thou, Capernaum, shalt thou be

exalted to heaven? Thou shalt be brought down to Hades.

Luke 16:19 is quite different from other parables told by Jesus, not least because here he uses real persons, Lazarus, and Abraham who was the father of faith and the Jews rather than a descriptive title, such as the good Samaritan. In

fact, I believe this is the only such story told by Jesus that is not referred to as a parable in the Bible itself.

Joseph of Arimathaea also believed that when we died our souls lived on just as Enoch AND JOSEPHUS state above and just as Jesus taught HE believed on death our souls departed from our bodies. We know this because at the Garden Tomb believed to be the tomb of Jesus. Joseph of Arimathaea cut out a small window which is still there today. Now this is important as the window was the soul hole called the nephesh a Hebrew word meaning soul hole to let out the soul.

When I interviewed John Lingham, the garden tomb guide, while making my film Our Search for the tomb of Jesus, John at the garden tomb stated that some Jewish tombs of that period had this window believed to be the soul hole called the nephesh to let out the soul as I stated above.

  • Please don't take my word for this click here to watch a small part of John Lingham at the garden tomb.

    Also click here to read:

By John A. Tvedtnes, instructor at the Brigham Young University-Salt Lake Center.

Why would JOSEPHUS and or HIPPOLYTUS OF ROME warn the Greeks about heaven and Hades and HELL informing them that we have a soul that lives on after death if he did not believe in what he was saying?

Josephus' and or HIPPOLYTUS OF ROME writes:

Hades, is a place where the souls of the unrighteous and the righteous were detained but the righteous in a place higher up called The Bosom of Abraham in this place he states there was light and no burning heat, no piercing cold but the place for the unrighteous is hot and they are in torment.

This confirms with Luke 16:23  And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham afar off and Lazarus in his bosom.

So finely we have above 2 Peter 2:9. AND JOSEPHUS and or HIPPOLYTUS OF ROME AND the words of Jesus himself all confirming with the same story told by Enoch  1000's of years in advance from THE GREEK TEXT OF THE 7Q THE ENOCH FRAGMENTS.: to all be consistent with one anther.
